Need a hand?
Support is one email address and a person on the other end of it. No ticket portal to sign up for, no chatbot, no queue position. Have a look at the common questions below, and if yours is not there, write to us.
Common questions
Most of what people write in about is answered here.
Pathfinder will not install, or Windows warns me about it
Pathfinder is a Windows 64-bit desktop app, so it needs a 64-bit version of Windows and permission to install. If SmartScreen or your antivirus flags the installer, that is because Pathfinder is new rather than because anything is wrong with it. Download it from this site only, never from a mirror, and if the warning will not clear, email us and we will help you check the file you have.
How do I update, and which version am I on?
Pathfinder updates itself, so there is normally nothing to do. Your version number is in Settings, under Updates. It is worth checking there before you write in, because the thing you have hit may already be fixed in a newer build.
An account or app is behaving strangely
Each account runs in its own Chromium partition, so a problem is usually contained to one account rather than the whole browser. Try the same site in another account first: if it works there, the issue is with that account's session, and signing out and back in inside Pathfinder normally clears it. If it fails everywhere, tell us the site and we will take a look.
What is in the free tier, and what is Pro?
The free tier is 8 apps, 2 accounts of each app, and 1 saved workspace. Pro lifts those limits and adds custom apps, scheduled workspaces, and a command line for scripting your setup. Split view is free either way.
Those limits are not switched on in current builds, so if something is refusing to open or add, it is a bug rather than a cap. Tell us and we will look at it.
Billing, refunds, and cancelling renewal
Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record, so your receipt and your account link come from them. You can cancel renewal any time from that link, and you keep the paid features until the end of the period you have paid for.
If Pathfinder is not what you expected, ask us within 14 days of buying and we will refund you. Email us rather than chasing it yourself and we will sort it out. The full detail is in the Terms.
Can you get at my data to help me?
No, and that is the point. Your accounts, sessions, and workspaces are folders and files on your own PC. There is no Pathfinder account, no cloud sync, and no telemetry, so we cannot look up your setup from our side. It means support is a conversation rather than us reading your logs, so the more you can tell us in your first email, the faster this goes. See the Privacy page for the whole picture.
Is there a Mac or Linux build?
Windows only for now. Mac and Linux are not planned and have no date, but both are possible: register your interest and we will build them if enough people ask. Adding your address there counts for more than emailing us about it.
How do I uninstall Pathfinder?
Remove it the ordinary Windows way, from Settings under Apps, then Installed apps. Nothing of yours is held anywhere else, because there was never an account to close. If you would rather tell us why you are going, we would genuinely like to hear it.
Write to us
Send anything: a bug, a question, a feature you wish existed, or a licence problem. It reaches a person, not a queue.
We are a very small team in New Zealand, so replies come in our working hours rather than around the clock. Expect to hear back within a couple of business days.
What to put in your email
None of this is compulsory, and a one-line "this is broken" is still worth sending. But because your setup lives on your machine and not on our servers, the first four lines below save us a round trip each:
- Your Pathfinder version, from Settings, under Updates.
- Your Windows version, from Settings, under System, then About.
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
- Whether it happens every time or only sometimes.
- A screenshot, if it is something you can see. Blur anything you would rather we did not.
Please do not send us passwords, licence keys, or session cookies. We will never ask for any of them, and we do not need them to help you.
Reporting a security issue
If you have found a vulnerability, email the same address with "security" in the subject line and we will treat it as a priority. Please give us a reasonable chance to fix it before you publish anything, and we will keep you posted on where it has got to.
Feature requests
Send them to the same place. Pathfinder is deliberately narrow, so not everything gets built, and we would rather tell you honestly that something is a no than leave it sitting on a public board forever. Requests that come up again and again are the ones that move.
